Protective Rifle Curtains for Hamble Sea Scouts

We were pleased to be able to provide Hamble Sea Scouts with protective ballistic curtains for their rifle shooting.

On completion, we received this letter which explains more about the project and offers some really positive feedback.

I just wanted to write and thank you for all the help Defence Composites have given Hamble Sea Scouts in the manufacturing of our outdoor ballistic curtains.

We have been air rifle shooting for some time as a group and we are lucky enough to have an indoor shooting range. During lockdown I was asked to investigate the possible purchase of ballistic curtains for the group to enable us to shoot outside as and when restrictions on meetings eased.

I assumed this was something you could just search for on the internet but over a few days I was drawing a complete blank and just assumed that this was not something that was available. After sending numerous emails to different companies I had a call from Craig and we chatted through what I was looking for as this was something new for you but he really wanted to see if it was something that he could help with.

Fast forward 2 months and we had delivered 3 x 10m curtains made to measure, including the eyelets to enable us to hang them. They arrived just a few days before we were allowed to start meeting outdoors again and we have now been running outdoor sessions every week and the Scouts are thoroughly enjoying it.

The curtains are perfect and make the outdoor area safe for shooting. We have had many comments saying how good they are and we are able to set up the outdoor range in just 10 minutes.

Again, thank you to everyone at Defence Composites who helped this happen. You have been instrumental in helping us to get our young people back meeting outdoors again in a safe and secure way.
